Tickets for the 8th Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon, are selling briskly as usual, so if you haven’t bought yours yet, now is the time! Vizcaya Museum and Gardens held its kickoff party for the popular event, known informally as “The Hat Luncheon,” to be held at Vizcaya on March 1, 11:00 AM. More than 80 of Miami society’s finest, came together for an elegant reception, hosted by Christy and David Martin and jewelry designer Lais Bacchi at Artefacto, the trend-setting furniture showroom at the Shops at Merrick in Coral Gables.
Throughout the evening, the ladies were treated to champagne and hors d’oeuvres and since wearing a hat is strongly suggested for the luncheon, there was a display of super stylish hats and fascinators by Suzy Buckley Woodward from Shapoh.com. With such gorgeous colors and over-the-top glam choices, a hat-buying frenzy ensued. Lais Bacchi also presented her show-stopping Lais Bacchi Jewelry, which flew out of the showroom as well.
Guests also reserved their tables for the luncheon, which is one of the most popular and picturesque events during our season. It draws over 300 socialites from Miami, Palm Beach and New York for a champagne gourmet lunch and informal modeling on the spectacular, European-style grounds of the villa that James Deering built. But let’s face it, it’s really all about getting to see the hats and fashions worn by the women who attend! This, my friends, is the real fashion show.
The 8th Annual Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon’s Honorary Chair is Swanee DiMare and Co-Chairs are Eilah Campbell-Beavers, Sonia Gibson, Linda Levy Goldberg, Barbara Hevia, Daysi Johansson, Nicole Lozano, Christy Martin and Laura C. Munilla. Committee members are Lesli Ann Brown, Suzy Buckley, Ana Hernandez, Carol Iacovelli, Marile Lopez, Bronwyn Miller, Marisa Toccin and Alexa Wolman. The Preservation Luncheon raises funds to preserve and protect Vizcaya Museum and Gardens for the community and future generations to come. Founded in 2009, the luncheon is a popular fund-raiser to support the preservation of Vizcaya.
