It was an exciting night at the Mondrian Hotel at the kickoff of Miami Beach International Fashion Week, which is coming March 3rd through 6th at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It’s a unique event where you’ll mingle with celebrities and meet high fashion’s next superstars. (I’m fortunate enough to be one of the judges for the event so stay tuned for my reporting directly from the runway shows!)
At the kick off, ten South Florida philanthropists were honored, receiving the organization’s 2nd Annual Humanitarian Awards. The glamorous party, organized by Sobol-Perry Fashion Productions was held poolside at the Mondrian Hotel and hosted by fashion week founder Beth Sobol and Aaron Perry. It was also a fundraiser for Miami Fashion Week Foundation, Inc. The foundation raises scholarship funds for new designers and students of the fashion and design arts. Sponsors were Tiffany & Co. and Moroccan Oil.
Television news anchor Brian Andrews and radio personality Ileana Garcia served as lively emcees who presented the awards to the honorees.
The award recipients were NBC 6 newsanchor Jackie Nespral; The Forge owner, Shareef Malnik; MGS Communications’ CEO Manuel Machado; event producer/caterer Joy Wallace; Univision news anchor Maria Elena Salinas; Vince Castro; philanthropist Tina Carlo; Inktel CEO Ricky Arriola; Dr. Omar Pasalodos; and designer Somy Ali.
