A MUST! Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon Tuesday!

Thanks to Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, whose fashion choices have catapulted hats back into the mainstream consciousness, I think we can expect some eye-catching toppers this Tuesday.  If you dare to be daring, your socialista quotient will be at the required lofty level for the Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon (also known as the “Hat Luncheon”) hosted by The Vizcayans. This is one of my favorite events because it harkens to hedonistic decades past when Vizcaya was a private estate known for over-the-top parties.

This year’s Luncheon Chair is the glamorous Lydia Touzet.

Vizcaya Preservation Luncheon
Tuesday, February 26 — 11:00 AM
Tickets are $300 per person. Tables of ten (10) are $3,000

To purchase tickets contact Miriam Barcia 305-856-4866 or miriam@vizcayans.org

What to expect: The event will begin at 11:00 AM with cocktails and presentations on the Garden Mound followed by the luncheon al fresco on Vizcaya’s picturesque East Terrace overlooking Biscayne Bay. Inspired by the divine garden luncheons of the early days of Vizcaya, guests — both men and women — are invited to wear hats and their most elegant daytime ensembles.

The Vizcayans will honor the Founders of the Preservation Luncheon, a dynamic group of individuals who are dedicated to the preservation of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Those Founders who have completed their five-year financial support commitment will be presented with a gold Caravel brooch.

The luncheon will also celebrate the completion of the Fountain Garden Restoration funded by a generous $500,000 award from The Tiffany & Co. Foundation in 2008.

Fernanda W. Kellogg, chair of The Tiffany & Co. Foundation, will attend the event on behalf of the Foundation to join in the celebration.

Tickets are available at $300 each or tables of ten (10) for $3,000

For tickets call Miriam Barcia at 305-856-4866 Ext. 3 or e-mail at miriam@vizcayans.org
