NYT Best-Selling Author in Miami for Book Bash

When you’re Derek Blasberg, the New York Times best-selling author of “Very Classy” a witty revamp of “Classy,” his first book, you are too fabulous for words. Blasberg, editor at large for Harper’s Bazaar magazine, is so fabulous in fact, that among the many parties on his multi-city book tour were some hosted by the likes of actress Chloe Sevigny and designers Tory Burch and the iconic Vera Wang. Does he hold a record for the best book parties ever hosted by the chi-chi-est, bold-faced names? I think so.

The dapper, sassy Blasberg came to Miami for yet another muy elegante book party hosted by longtime pal, New York glamour girl and across the board fashion muse, Lauren Santo Domingo, along with model Ines Rivero, Vivian Duenas and business powerhouse Loren Ridinger at the Ridinger home on North Bay Road on Miami Beach. Dom Pérignon, which sponsored the party, flowed like a Miami downpour the entire night. Delish.

Blasberg’s hilariously funny book gives serious details how to climb the social ladder with grace and especially how to be lady not a tramp, going against how young women are portrayed in music videos, reality shows and so on. (I so love that… and really… so necessary in Miami, if you get my drift). Blasberg hangs with the uber-fashionable socialistas about whom paparazzi wet dreams are made, so his advice comes with indisputable insider knowledge on all topics. (I highly recommend that all mothers of teenage girls or… any female from the age of two to 82 — get a copy of this book).

Guests included photographer Greg Lotus, Adriana Castro, Suzy Buckley, Candela Ferro, Katya Segovia, Francesca and Alessandro Renzetti, Laure Heriard Dubreuil, Andres Santo Domingo, Crispy Alexander, Kelly Gold, Martina Borgomanero, Fabian Basabe, Michelle and Tommy Pooch, Barbara Becker, Amaris Jones, Carolina Lanao, John Joseph Lin and Susanne Birbragher.

The event was also sponsored by Moda Operandi, the first online luxury fashion retailer to allow members to pre-order tomorrow’s styles today. Working closely with the world’s top designers such as Marc Jacobs, Isabel Marant, Proenza Schouler, Vera Wang and Missoni, Moda Operandi provides fashion trendsetters with access to complete collections from the finest brands accessories and jewelry – immediately following their runway shows. Creative Director Lauren Santo Domingo and CEO Aslaug Magnusdottir launched Moda Operandi this past February.
