Colors and Patterns Stand Out at Black Tie Balls

In the “Chic to Chic” column we adore society trend-watching. It’s actually our favorite sport. We found that a number of our socialistas chose to change it up at the charity balls during the hectic Miami season, by wearing gowns in a pattern or a color other than black.

In this edition of “Chic to Chic” we love that Christina Getty-Maercks went for a romantic, flowey, deep rose, leafy print from Christian Cota; Hayden Hosford, from Palm Beach, chose a regal Ozcar G. Couture creation with hand-beaded Swarovski crystals on rich burgundy; Jennifer Valoppi shimmered in a grand, navy Oscar de la Renta; Paulette Schena chose a fitted, bronze David Meister and her grandmother’s jewels; while Susie Wahab opted for a true-to-her-style, exotic, black & white beaded Naeem Khan; Whitney Storick and Kristi Kinard really turned heads in eye-popping magenta and fuschia.

As you choose your weapons for the upcoming society season, take note, color is stronger than ever and I predict we’ll see much more of it come fall.
